The Feline Calicivirus Antigen Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of feline Calicivirus antigen (FCV Ag) in secretions from cat's eyes, nasal cavities, and anus.
Assay Time: 5-10 minutes
The Feline Calicivirus Antigen Rapid Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated monoclonal antibodies. If there is FCV antigen in the specimen, a visible T line will appears. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Feline calicivirus antigen in the specimen.
- Test devices, with disposable droppers
- Assay buffer
- Cotton swabs
- Products Manual
The kit can be stored at room temperature (4-30°C). The test kit is stable through the expiration date (24 months) marked on the package label. DO NOT FREEZE. Do not store the test kit in direct sunlight.
- Collect cat's ocular, nasal or anus secretions with the cotton swab and make the swab wet sufficiently.
- Insert the swab into the provided assay buffer tube. Agitates it to get efficient sample extraction.
- Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
- Suck the treated sample extraction from the assay buffer tube and place 3 drops into the sample hole "S" of the test device.
Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 10 minutes is considered as invalid.
Feline Calicivirus symptoms, transmission methods, and preventive measures are as follows:
Symptoms:
- Flu-like symptoms: Cats may exhibit symptoms similar to human flu, such as sneezing, nasal congestion, and runny nose.
- Eye discharge: Cats may have eye discharge, redness, or inflammation in the eyes.
- Oral ulcers: Ulcers may appear in the cat's mouth, causing oral pain and loss of appetite.
- Loss of appetite: Cats may experience a decreased appetite due to oral ulcers or other symptoms.
- Fever: Cats may develop a fever.
Transmission methods:
- Direct contact: Feline Calicivirus can spread through direct contact with infected cats' oral and nasal secretions.
- Droplet transmission: Infected cats release virus particles when they sneeze or cough, and other cats inhaling these particles may become infected.
- Contact with contaminated objects: The virus may be present in contaminated environments, and other cats coming into contact with these contaminated objects may also become infected.
Preventive measures:
- Regular vaccination: Take your cat to the veterinarian regularly for Feline Calicivirus vaccinations to boost immunity.
- Maintain a clean environment: Clean your cat's living environment regularly, including their bed, food bowls, litter box, etc., to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
- Avoid contact with infected cats: Try to prevent contact between your cat and infected cats, especially during severe illness.
- Regular veterinary check-ups: Take your cat for regular veterinary check-ups to detect potential health issues early and take appropriate measures.

Company Profile
Hangzhou Immuno Biotech Co., Ltd is the original organization in IMMNUO Group, which was established in 2014. The team of Hangzhou Immuno Biotech has developed a series of proteins and rapid test kits for the in vitro diagnostic industry in early stage. Gradually, IMMUNO was well known as a good R&D partner and good supplier of veterinary rapid test products. With great patience and continuous investment in design and development of IVD relative reagents and test kits, we got several encouraging achievements in the past year, especially in veterinary diagnostic field.
To achieve that goal, IMMUNO has decided to focus on the development of rapid testing tools for zoonosis diseases and formed a joint action within our group. Now, we have a scientific team to analyse and develop recombinant proteins and antibodies, a technical team to apply the proteins and antibodies to immunoassay format, and also a joint team to study the diseases themselves and their possible application scenarios.
Hangzhou Immuno Biotech Co., Ltd. will focus on the human medical diagnostic field and mainly cover the following directions: rapid tests for vector-borne diseases(VBDs), rapid tests for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), rapid tests for respiratory system diseases and rapid tests for digestive system diseases. Besides, with strong R&D capability, we would pay more attention to the diagnosis of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
IMMUNO will continuously contribute to the development of diagnostic tools for the whole human society and nature world.
